Chicken Dish/ Roasting Platter – Wonki Ware

The Wonki Ware Chicken Dish is a beautifully handcrafted serving platter designed to move effortlessly from oven to table. With its generous rectangular shape and gently raised sides, it is perfect for presenting a whole roast chicken, meat roasts, vegetables or abundant shared dishes.

Both practical and decorative, this versatile platter makes an elegant centrepiece when entertaining and is equally suited to everyday family meals.

Each dish is handmade in George, South Africa using Wonki Ware’s traditional pottery techniques. From mixing the clay to the final glaze, every piece passes through the hands of multiple skilled artisans during its creation.

Because Wonki Ware is entirely handcrafted, no two pieces are ever exactly the same. Subtle variations in shape, glaze and pattern placement are part of the charm and character of the collection — what Wonki Ware calls “perfectly imperfect” tableware.

The distinctive lace pattern is impressed into the clay by hand before glazing. With approximately forty different lace patterns used in production, the exact pattern received may vary from the images shown, making every piece truly unique.
